Corporate Crawl is a new campaign of DMA where we plan to take a selected group of students off campus to a corporate head offices to allows students to learn more about what today's industry has to offer.We aim to provide a real-life expectation of the working environment in top firms and networking opportunities with established marketing professionals. This year, students will receive an opportunity to visit Microsoft! The event is open for all years and the applications will open on January 17.
Speed Networking is an interactive experience designed for students interested in learning more about marketing and sales open to all years. Industry professionals and McMaster alumni will aid in educating students about possible careers in marketing and sales. Students will group up around a table with one or two professionals and will have 10-12 minutes to network. Professionals can conduct an activity to help educate the students further. Whether it be some form of an interactive activity, an explanation of the professional’s journey or simple Q&A, the ultimate goal is to educate and inform students about possibilities within the industry. When the time is up, students will rotate to a new table to meet a new speaker.
For the first time ever, the DMA is providing first and second-year members with an opportunity to attend an Adobe Workshop! In partnership with Lyons New Media Centre (4th floor Mills), participants will be exposed to Photoshop and InDesign and their capabilities. This is a great opportunity to develop your skill set (and your resume). Seats are limited so sign up ASAP!
For the second year in a row, the DMA and McMaster University will be hosting a school-wide Maple Leafs Sports Entertainment (MLSE) case competition. Teams of bright and talented students will work together on a two-week marketing and sports related case in order to move onto a national competition, in which the winners can secure an internship with Maple Leafs Sports Entertainment.
